SHIPPING

UPS Website

Shipments to out of area and out of state customers (and other FFL licensees in the case of firearm shipments) will be made via UPS unless specifically requested otherwise.  Rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and all other items can be shipped via UPS Ground Service, which is fairly economical but may take up to a week to arrive at destinations that are across the country.  UPS will accept handgun shipments by Next Day Air Service only.  In general, firearms can only be shipped to licensed dealers (FFL holders).  UPS will accept shipments of ammunition via Ground Service.  Ammunition can be shipped directly to customers in most states.

By special request, I can also ship firearms and other items via either US Mail or Federal Express.

Federal Express will only ship firearms via their Priority Overnight service.  Ammunition must be shipped as dangerous goods through Federal Express.  This is typically very costly.

The United State Postal Service is another alternative to consider.  Licensed dealers (FFL holders) can ship rifles, shotguns, and handguns by US Mail.  For shipment of handguns, the USPS is now the most cost-effective way to ship.  But please note that delivery via the USPS is slower than by UPS or Federal Express.  It's a cost vs: delivery trade-off... your choice.  Please note that ammunition cannot be shipped via US Mail (USPS regulation).

Most other shippers will no longer accept firearm shipments.  Airborne and Roadway have specifically prohibited firearm shipments.

Please note that all shipments will be made FOB Origin, which basically means that the addressee is responsible for the shipment once I hand it over to UPS (or FedEx / USPS).  I strongly suggest that you accept the charges (my standard practice) for insurance on the shipment when it is made.  I will let you know what the rates are in advance of shipment, so you can make an informed decision.  Also note that I charge the actual shipping cost and do not apply any type of markup on shipping costs.  If special packaging is required to ship an item and I need to purchase it (e.g. special size boxes, etc.) I will include the cost of this material in the shipping fee to you.  Please e-mail me if you have any questions on shipping charges or methods.
